According to the World Bank, migrant workers’ remittances are expected to reach $774 billion in 2022, of which $605 billion is expected to go to low- and middle-income countries, surpassing both foreign aid and investment. In light of the International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR), which IFAD launched in 2015 and the UN General Assembly endorsed in 2018, the NGO Committee on the Family has organized this 1.5 hour webinar in recognition of the importance of family remittances, particularly in these times of crisis.

Pedro De Vasconcelos, Manager of IFAD’s Financing Facility for Remittances (FFR), will intervene along with the Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN and the focal point for the American Family Association of New York.
