  • “Enhanced Linkages between Private sector and Small-scale producers (ELPS) Initiative: Sustainable Coffee Production Project in Tanzania” First Pilot Project Launch Event

    Distinguished Representatives,

We are pleased to invite you to the event titled “Enhanced Linkages between Private sector and Small-scale producers (ELPS) Initiative: Sustainable Coffee Production Project in Tanzania”. This event will take place online (Zoom Webinar) on Friday, 20 September 2024, 09.00-10.00 CET (16.00-17.00 Japan time). Please register from this link.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, IFAD, and two Japanese companies, UCC and Marubeni, formed a new public-private partnership, a joint investment project to enhance the sustainability of the coffee value chain and to support small-scale coffee producers in Tanzania. This event will introduce ELPS initiative as a new public-private partnership model, and through a panel discussion, we aim to discuss what role the private sector can play in global agricultural development and what can be done to further promote private sector involvement and investment in rural areas of developing countries.

For further information and questions, please feel free to write to: Mariko Kato (ma.kato@ifad.org) and Yoko Maruta (y.maruta@ifad.org) from the IFAD Japan Liaison Office.
